Event Details

RIBS returns to the stage after the British Brains recording sessions, with special guests Art Decade, Ultra Violent Lights, and DJ Nooka Jones. Join us for a very special show Sunday, Jan 17th (the day before Martin Luther King, Jr. day) at Church of Boston. 9pm doors, 21+.

RIBS

"RIBS are the latest band to emerge from the Boston scene, and poised to become one of the best... Their music evolves emotionally as it progresses, and soars with an atmospheric quality and intensity similar to Deftones, Queens of the Stone Age, or Muse... the band manages to write gorgeously moody rock that's straightforward, pure, and will have you listening on repeat." Exploding In Sound

Art Decade

From the state that gave us the Pixies and Sonic Youth comes another alternative rock gem: Art Decade. An experimental hard rock band with progressive influences, Art Decade has an expressive, distinct style to their collection of strikingly intimate songs.

Ultra Violent Lights

"...Ultra Violent Lights' grungy, 90s garage rock feel makes sense. 'Here In The Filth' sounds straight up guy in tattered sweater cradling a guitar, expeling abrasively raw yet poetic vocals, as candles flickering nearby - like an untouched outtake from Nirvana's infamous Unplugged session in 1993." DJ Nooka Jones

From his humble beginnings in the plains of Indiana, to his time spent in the grimey clubs of East London, Nooka Jones' sound and taste is ever evolving. After coming to Boston for school, Jones escaped to London for four months to study the up and coming bass heavy dance scene that was erupting on the other side of the pond. Nooka now plays regularly to sold out crowds at venues such as Rise and the Middle East Upstairs.
